Surroundings
With its situation along the Arade river, Silves is one of the oldest cities of the Algarve and is in fact the former capitol with great historical importance. Here you still can experience the Moorish influences of the past with the beautiful castle and other buildings, witch gives the place it’s magical feeling. You can also vist one of the restaurants near the cityhall.
When exploring the rest of the surroundings you will find beautiful landscapes, wild nature, orange fields and lakes. A highly recommended area is the Monchique mountain where you can have a view from the highest point in the algarve. Of course you can also enjoy the most beaches, golfcources and parks.
